around parts of staten island, as we flew over parts of other parts of the city and the region that had been impacted, there's still a lot of cleanup to do. people still need emergency help. they still need heat. they still need power. they still need food. they still need shelter. kids are still trying to figure out where they're going to go to school. so there's a lot of short-term immediate stuff that has to be dealt with and we are going to make sure that we stay here as long as people need that immediate help. that's fema's primary task. we'll be coordinating closely with state and local governments to make sure folks are getting the short-term help and heard there's long-term building that's required. you look at this block. and you know that this is a community that is deeply rooted, you know, most of the folks i met here have been here 20, 30, 50 years. they don't want to see their community uprooted. but there's got to be a plan for rebuilding. and that plan's going to be to have to be coordinated and resources. so what i have committed to doing is work with the outstanding con

is, of course, the biggest city in israel and you saw pictures on israeli tv of people there hitting the deck, going to the ground, going into a brace position. obviously, in anticipation of possibly rockets falling on tel aviv. now, we have gotten now a message from the spokesperson for the israeli defense forces who says he is not aware that any rockets actually landed in tele1r50e6. however, several projectiles did land on the outskirts of southern the southern fringe of the greaters metropolitan tel aviv area, and if a rocket did hit tel aviv, that would be a massive escalation of what's going now, and we just heard general marks talking about how the israeli defense forces were trying to take out rocket positions inside gaza. they have launched no less than 100 missile launching sights, and they say so far they believe their operation is going kre ve well. on the other hand, you still have a lot of rockets that being being launched out of gaza. more than 200 being launched alone today. the palestinians, of course, will tell you that these air raids that are going by the israeli

's the plan for rationing? >> reporter: well, i'll tell you. new york city is finally taking a very good idea, good lead from governor christie here in new jersey, because new york city today is starting its own gas rationing, just like new jersey has been doing for the past week. so that is meant to help to try to alleviate the very long lines that continue to be seen time and again throughout new york city and all the burroughs as people are lining up to find gas stations that, a, have power enough to even pump the gas once they get it. new york is starting to use the same system they have in new jersey, the odd/even plan according to your license tag as to when you can gas up. again here in new jersey, they've been doing this for the past week. and as we have been driving around the last several days, we have not seen any gasoline lines, or very short ones anyway. governor christie at a news conference said he has discovered the same thing, so much so that he might decide to lighten up the rationing or get rid of it. here is what he had to say about it. >> there's order. there's easy acces

"time" magazine is reporting that petraeus's biographer turned mistress once toyed with entering politics. she reportedly told acquaintances backing in jul that will gop "money men" had approached her about a senate run from north carolina. she says she was "tempted." "time" magazine reports but petraeus was strongly against it. is it "time" is also reporting on the internal fbi struggle over whether to tell the white house what and whom they were investigating. it turns out the white house wasn't informed till the night of the election. three days before general petraeus resigned. on a personal level, general petraeus is telling aides and confidantes that he is devastated by the pain and suffering that he has caused. and that brings me to another piece of reporting that you need to hear for
